What we expect

  • Lawful conduct — observe, document, request records, and follow up through legitimate channels.
  • Calm communication, especially under pressure. Distance, clarity, and de-escalation protect the person recording and improve the quality of the evidence.
  • Respect for fellow attendees, faculty, sponsors, venue staff, and the public — across politics, backgrounds, and creator styles.
  • Honest publishing — preserve raw footage, avoid misleading edits, distinguish facts from legal opinions, correct mistakes promptly.
  • Respect for restricted areas, court orders, security-sensitive environments, schools, jails, and medical privacy.

What we will not tolerate

  • Violence, threats of violence, stalking, or intimidation.
  • Harassment, including based on race, sex, religion, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, or political affiliation.
  • Doxxing — publishing private addresses, family information, employer details, or other identifying information of private individuals.
  • Trespass, obstruction of lawful police, EMS, or government activity, or instruction on evading lawful arrest.
  • Staged confrontations or manufactured incidents for content.
  • Recording private citizens in private settings without consent.

The optional field block

The Take It to the Streets field practice is opt-in and structured as a guided learning lab — small groups, group leads, checklists, meeting points, and a separate signed waiver. Field practice is not a stunt and is not a confrontation challenge. Attendees who prefer to stay in the classroom for additional workshops, podcast booth time, or sponsor demos are welcome to do so.

Enforcement

Violations may result in removal from the event without refund, a ban from future Summits, and — in serious cases — referral to law enforcement or to the venue's security team. Decisions are made by the Summit organizers and are final for the duration of the event.

Reporting

If you experience or witness conduct that conflicts with this code, contact a Summit staff member on-site or email partners@auditorsummit.com. Reports are reviewed promptly and treated confidentially to the extent possible.

This is a working draft. The final code will accompany the registration confirmation email and the participation waiver.
